Which one!?

I know you guys are all so clever when it comes to guitars so i got a lil question for you!

I've always wanted a jem (undoubtedly like many otheres!) so i got a job to help me save up for one and my dad is going to help too, but i dunno which one to get, my favourite at the moment is the 77fp, but im also considering the vsbl, also, ive heard the fp might be going out of production (just a rumor from the guitar shop)so, if thats true would it be a gd or bad idea to buy? And finally what are the main differences between the 2. I know the real way to know is to play them, yourself, but id also like your help.

Thanks alot, Alex

The FP might just be out of production already. It's not being offered in the US and rumors has it that we're just getting what's left in the warehouses back in Japan. As the JEM with probably the highest production total, I can't see it disappearing from the used marked or becoming very valuable any time soon.

The main differences between the VBSL and the FP are many. Alder vs. basswood body, Evolutions vs. PAF pro pickups, AANJ vs old style neck joint and the finish of course. Go to the spec page to find the technical differences.

I haven't tried the VBSL so I can't really give any advise or tell you which one I like better. I do however like the looks of the FP more than the new VBSL.
