Opinion on Jem77BFP...An unique guitar?? ;)

Chris,

The frets on my BFP were pretty worn when I got mine so I had it refretted with 6100's, it's an awesome player now (we've probably talked about this on the phone). *I might have been more hesitant had the neck been in pristine shape though. * *

Though, I recently picked up a Robin Medley and it has become my favorite "feel good" guitar, that neck just fits me perfect. *Now I think I'm going to try to find another one of those as soon as I get the $$$ together. *Sorry for the digression...

I own a JEM7VWH, and it is my all-time fave, but I think the BFP is an amazing and great looking guitar. *It reminds me of the more flashy days circa '86. *I think the florals and flourescants were so perfect for the music Steve, DLR and Whitesnake made, and as he moved into his own music, you can see the change in his music directly in his guitars.

I have had a BFP since 1992 (bought it new) and it is still my favorite guitar!

Last year I put a blue tone zone in the bridge but I think I will go back to a PAF Pro.

I will post another message here when I have another BFP-related jem....it is in the process of being put together...pics soon.

Kenny, the gold hardware looks great!

best wishes

Simon

Roger,

I've actually given serious thought to having my BFP refretted, but...I've got enough "players" that I can't really justify it. *I love it, but am serioulsy considering selling it. *It just doesn't get played at all. *6100's would definitely be my choice as well though!

I love the BFP. I consider it to be the second best aesthetically of all the Jems. Only surpassed by the Original 3 flourescent jobs (waits for cries of disgust).

I love BFPs, it can't decide between them and 7Vwhs, it's too difficult and i think they're both gorgeous guitars.

I do think BFPs look better with gold hardware though, seems to set something off with the maple fretboard :P

If i had to choose between a BFP and a 7vwh and it was my -first- Jem, i'd choose a 7vwh. If i already had a high end RG/J-Custom, i'd choose the BFP, since they stand out a mile and are different from the norm

We need more BFP pics in here!

The BFP is my fave of the 77's and way better than the wh which I think just looks like something an Elvis impersonator should have, although they do play well. I just think white ain't my thing.
My preference is def the 777's especially the DY, although the largest run summat about an Ibanez in that colour really hits home with me.

edit: Here she is just about to get slaughtered b4 a soundcheck!

Just a heads up, for anyones who's interested- There's a BFP on eBay right now. Just found it while I was...uh... working.

Sunrise, is it just the picture, or is that headstock white?
