Opinions needed and of course answers

Hi all,
I plan to change my 04 vwh's trem to a Lo-Pro. I plan to buy a chrome trem but what would be your advice on it... And I still can't make up my mind as to wheter I'm going to buy an original edge or Lo-Pro. So I need your opinions on that as well. I used them both but they both feel great and I can't make my mind up. Also I would be grateful if you could post the specs of them both.
Now the questions. Can I swap a Lo-Pro or an Edge with an Edge Pro without routing or whatsoever? I mean studs will be wider so how do I put it in place?
Same question with the backstop. I'm buying a backstop but wonder if I'll need routing to install it?

Thanks in advance to all of you...

Cheers,
Can

Re: Opinions needed and of course answers

Nope- check Rich's site for the exact reasons, but the studs sit in different places in the cavity and the cavities are different sizes.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking to switch? Performance? A properly set up Edge Pro with new locking studs should perform as well as if not better (the steel inserts are a nice touch) than an Edge or Lo-Pro.

I Don't know, I just like the old ones better. One of the most important reason is that I want locking studs. Of course I could change the studs but I think I want to have Lo-Pro and find reasons for that

I think the chrome trems on the VWH's are great looking.. I would go for a chrome original edge just because I love the original edges, They look great and feel awesome!

Drew is correct, it's not happening, unless you butcher your Jem to make it work.

This doesnt make any sense. Why are you going to spend over 200 bucks on an edge or Lo Pro that wont fit your guitar anyway?

Sell the guitar and buy an older one, you ll get a Lo Pro and an ebony freatboard.... plus, you may even make a profit out this.

well that's pretty impossible because I live in Turkey So there's no way I'm changing it... I love my baby so she won't be butchered As soon as possible I'm ordering the locking stud mod kit from rich.

thanks for your answers guys, I really appreciate it But my backstop question remains unaswered...

Re: Opinions needed and of course answers

Backstop or Tremsetter? A tremsetter needs to be screwed in, and you MIGHT want to do a little minor routing just in case. I've never played a backstop, but good luck finding one.

Or, hold your breath for a Tremol-no...
