Exclamation ORIGINAL Jem77pmc (Swirl-Pics) Value???

Hi Guys

I am in the process of putting in an offer on this original Jem 77 PMC. The guitar's body has some chips and there is some wear on the hardware, but the neck is in very good shape and there is very little fretwear for her age imo. Neck is in great shape apart from some fine scratches on the face of the fretboard... She also doesn't have the cracks at the headstock that many old Jems seem to have and she comes with her original case.

What do you guys think of her? What do you think she's worth? What should I look out for when examining her again? (I know the FP's well, but not the PMC's...)

I would like to put in an offer on her asap, but have absolutely no idea what she's worth and what these are going for at present.

I'd really appreciate your input!!

Re: ORIGINAL Jem77pmc - UP FOR SALE - Value???

Anyone with knowledge of PMC's and their value? Please, I need to figure out what to offer to get her to join my harem.

What are these selling for? 1. In bad condition 2. In average condition 3. In good condition 4. In spotless condition

What do you think of this examples swirl?

Any assistance and input would be greatly appreciated!

I personally don't like the swirl.

Re: ORIGINAL JEM 77PMC Value???

In this economy, a realistic price is in the $3,000-$3,500 USD in good to better than average condition. It is often hard to find them being offered at those levels though, I wouldn't sell mine for that price either. If you can get it for $3,000 USD or less you should not have too much to worry about, depending on the true condition.

Thank you very much! This is a great start. The going rate seems to be much higher than I anticipated...

Any other opinions on price range for pmc's from bad to pristine condition? I'd say this example's body condition is about average, but the neck is in great shape... There is some wear on the hardware, though...

Dude, I love your stats, and that somebody is keeping them, but I wish you had a column that stated what currency the guitar was sold in. Makes a lot of difference if it's USD, Pounds, or Euro. A converted price can be alot higher than a USD sale.

Thank you very much for the info. You are helping me a hellovalot!

I am probably going to buy this one... Just waiting for enough feedback from Jemsite to decide what offer to make. I have a relatively good idea now.

Many Thanks!

Noted, the vast majority of my stats are from the USA-based ****. Its labor intensive to track and mine all of this data and put it into a useable format. I don't have enough time to look at the non USA sites.

Re: ORIGINAL JEM 77PMC Value???

I only search e-bay.com and I get half the world mixed in the results. Are you filterring all that out by specifying US only or something?

Re: ORIGINAL JEM 77PMC Value???

I search with the standard defaults. This usually brings up items from Australia and Asia but not too much from Europe. The European and Australian JEMs rarely sell do to the higher starting sale price. In any event I'll add the exchange rate and sale location into my database.

Re: ORIGINAL JEM 77PMC Value???

@Rich: What is your take on the PMC pictured? Price wise as well?

P.S. I'll pm you soon. The whole internal part of my Jem77fp's Lo-Pro Edge that screws into the actual trem, that holds the whammy bar in place probably needs to be replaced...

Re: ORIGINAL JEM 77PMC Value???

I'll say I sure hope Ibanez does a reissue at some point so there will be some great PMC's in the world and I can finally get a keeper.

I was the one who sold the $4,700. It was in early 2008 right before the market tanked.
