Original JEM FP77 neck

Hey there, I'm looking for a bit of help (and a buyer!) pricing my pre-1992 Ibanez Jem 77FP neck attached to an RG570 body. I bought it around '92 second hand as is, so not sure of it's actual date.
The body isn't in good condition and needs some attention to the pick-ups, but I think the neck is in fantastic condition.
I'm assuming the buyer would be most interested in having the awesome neck.
Any comments on it's condition and value would be very much appreciated.

Re: Original JEM FP77 neck

I'll let other give their estimates also and you can base an average on it.

Thats a RG560 actually. And you're right the neck is the main value here, also the original edge trem can get good value by itself, and finally the body with electronics.

I'd estimate the neck alone going for $600 +/- $100

The whole package going for $800 +/- $100

Re: Original JEM FP77 neck

Thanks for your reply LMDAVE!
Have to admit the body model was not clear in my mind after 25 years!
How did you identify it as a RG560? I'm guessing you know your stuff
Thanks for the price advice, the neck value you suggest was about the same as my guess-timate.
And yeah, I shouuldn't discount the body/hardware as worthless!

Re: Original JEM FP77 neck

Well the identification is based on an RG570 being HSH (Hum-single-Hum) pickups, and 560 being HSS pickup configuration.

I love the headstock. Great color vibrancy.

Shame the original JEM neckbolt cover wasn't on your guitar.

Yeah, I agree would be nice to have the Jem neck plate with a serial number.
I don't know if people will question it's authenticity?

Re: Original JEM FP77 neck

Well I wouldn't have expected the JEM neck plate to be on that RG body with a JEM neck, I would have expected the standard Ibanez "Made in Japan" neck plate that is on RG's. But, from the pictures it looks like just a blank plate.

I'm not even talking about the serial number. There was another thread here recently about how much those old neck plates are worth.

If someone offered me $500.00 for the plate on my '89 FP that thing would be sold faster than poop thru a goose. Hell, if I could pull that off and maybe get a couple hundred for the case then I recoup half of the $$$ I spent on it.
