PAF Joe vs PAF Pro in a JS1000

The PAF Pro in a JS1000 has turned me into a neck pickup snob.....
Before this guitar, I didn't even care if my guitar had a neck pickup.
That being said, I think the Pro sounds a little muddy at times with heavier riffs and gobs of distortion.

I find myself wondering if I would like the PAF Joe more because it's a tad brighter.
I also find myself not wanting to sacrifice anything and wondering if the lower output of the Joe would bother me.

Anybody try a PAF Joe in the neck of their JS1000?
Or....maybe own both a JS1200 and a JS1000? Not sure if that would be an accurate comparison though since my 1000 has the Lo Pro Edge.

Have you try adjusting the pickup height on the PAF Pro?

Re: PAF Joe vs PAF Pro in a JS1000

Good suggestion, but yes I have.
This is the 2nd JS1000 that I've had this issue with. It's not bad, just a little bit muddy at times. The JS has turned me into a neck pickup guy for sure though!

It's not a complaint at all, just wondering if a PAF Joe or Fred in the neck would get me the same (or more....) harmonics, basically the same tone, and a tiny bit more clarity with stupid amounts of gain.

I never used my neck pickup until I got my JS1200. If you want it, go with the Paf Joe. Great sound, clean or distorted.
