Whats wrong with idolizing a musician, if thats what gives you the energy to pick up an instrument and play, then why is that so bad.
Id rather people idolise musicians then how religions choose a human and decide is a god....
That's ok my friend we just have different opinions about it.
And about religions =they are the worst thing in the world. If you believe in any kindda god or even gnomes, you just talk to them in your mind, you don't need religion to tell you what to do.That's why I said people need myths and idols to live cause they can't think for each others, they need somebody telling them what to do,that's why they need religion.
Idolizing anything is bad.People are people nothing more than that.If you think this or that guitarist plays like a god, study and put the the same effort he putted and you'll play as good as him.I really love Vai's MUSIC but about Vai,he's not my friend so I couldn't care less about him as a person. But I know he had to study,he spent a lot of time studying and developing his own technique,he didn't wake up one day and played that way.No pain no gain.
If I idolize him it would means I'm not capable to be like him.Why not. He's not different from me ,he just spent many more time studying. Some people don't study even 1 hour per day and they say some guitarists are gods because they can't play like them.Of course they can't cause they don't study even 1 hour each day.Do the math, how many hours did Vai spend studying?
To me he's the best guitarist ever,he's really creative and a funny guy,he gives a show and not just a guitarist playing like satch does on his shows still I don't idolize him,I just love his music.
Some people used to have Hitler as an idol. That's why idolizing is bad.
