Pickguard color suggestions wanted - for a Herc-swirled JEM

I want to get this axe working again, but possibly without the clear pickguard. Can anyone suggest an alternate color, style, pickguard. Thanks! ...glen

How about a smoke gray pickguard? *Somewhat like the UV777pbk but smoked. *For example - remember / know what the old black-chrome Diamond Back BMX frames looked like. *I would not use a very prominent / bright colored pickguard. * *

Eh, I like the clear.

If I had to put a colored one on it, I'd probably do black/white/black since it's so busy as it is and so bright.

Something too flashy would just be too much imo.

Glen, how about a swirled guard in the same colors?

dude.....stick with the clear....but get one of those black light or glow in the dark ones.....but stay with the clear....clears IMO are always the best on a swirl unless the swirl sucks where the pickgaurd is covering.

I think I'd probably go with a standard black 777 pickguard. Then maybe get some new pickups and knobs to balance the cosmetics? I remember the excitement when you got this one back from Herc all those years ago

i say keep the clear, but get purple pickups instead of the pink...maybe some purple knobs as well.

Id take that clear scratch and sand it with 200 grade paper to get a frosted glass look.
That way you get to keep the hint of colour under the scratch but the pots and hole are not vbisible

Ok ok ok. Purple mirror wouldn't be TOO horrible, but pink mirror is disgusting. Bleh. ;P

I like Devo's idea. A frosted glass thingy.

IMHO, If you go with a black guard you won’t have to loose the orange PUs. :mc:
