I play in a band that runs the gamut of different musical styles on any given night.
I've found that I get a really wide variety of tones from Jem with an Evo in the Bridge, a PAF Pro in the neck and pick a nice hot middle pickup (i use Virtual 2).
I found the breeds to be much less warm than the PAF Pro. If you want to hear my stuff, drop me a line and i'll shoot some mp3s over to you.
Here's one to start...
I made this little demo to show all the different sound of the pickups from my Jem. This is from this past April.
Each verse has a different sound...
Starts with clean, Neck/Middle split.
Drums in -> Neck only/improv
Melody Verse 1-> Neck only
Melody Verse 2-> Bridge only
Solo 1->Neck with blues tone (a bit of O/D)
Solo 2->Bridge w/ same blues tone
Melody Verse 3->Neck w/ Full-on O/D
Solo 3->Bridge w/Full-on O/D plus Wah (my new Boss Pw-10 V-Wah :biggrin
Ending->Same w/ wah off.
Discliamer: This is the second take of a straight in/non-multitrack recording. 100% live guitar w/sequence. I only did it to provide a tone comparison - I know the playing needs work
