Not really sure, Original edge but I don't think it's a JS900 or a JS1.

Are you sure it's not an Ibanez Radius?

The control layout on the body says 540R, definitely not JS. The Ibanez catalog shows a different inlay at the 21st fret on the 540 though, maybe someone else knows if that guitar could be had with just the standard dot?

It's a 540R, not a JS.
Check out the control layout...

Shouldn't the headstock say "JS" underneath the "Ibanez" tick? I think it is probably a Radius model as already suggested.

Not to mention the (what appears to be) tilt-back headstock.

It's a Radius 440R HH BK.
Here's mine:

Same as the 540R, Viper neck, Edge trem same basswood body, but different pickups (V1, V2 on the 440 and IbzUsa on the 540) and the 540R had the inlay on the 21st fret.

So 440r and 540r had different necks, and that's the only difference?

I'm pretty sure my 540r has the Ultra neck or something

Re: pls help me identify this JS? ibby guitar

Mine is a 1990 and the necks are completely the same between 440R and 540R as seen in the US catalog. (Can't really remember if it is the Ultra or Viper now that you mention it) Here the 540R doesn't have the "custom made" inlay.
http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1990/r.jpg

In the 1991 catalog the 540R gets the "custom made" inlay
http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1991/r.jpg

The 1990 EU catalog on the other hand shows the 440R without the inlay and the 540R with the inlay.
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary/...t_id=184&now=9
As you can see the rest of the specs for the neck are the same in both models. I thought it was called viper neck, maybe it is called Ultra...

Edit: Found the neck specs here on Jemsite:
http://www.jemsite.com/articles-menu...-woods-a-cuts/
Ultra Neck is 19mm at first fret, Viper neck is 19,5mm at first fret. If you check the catalogs above, the 1990 US catalog would be Ultra necks, and the other 2 catalogs Viper... go figure...
