Possible fading BFP - going a little greenish...

A question for everybody:

Looking at my BFP pattern on my guitar it does seem to be a little greener than it was in 1992.
As I recall the colour is done by a blue tinted clear coat.

How easy would it be to enhance the blue colour on a BFP by giving it a blue tinted clear coat?

any ideas?

best wishes

Simon

Hey Simon

This has been covered before - you're not the first to have a GFP.

Possible fading BFP

Hi Kenny

Yeah I am aware of that discussion-I replied to the topic!

I was hoping for suggestions to possibly fix it rather than to explain it.

cheers

Simon

Mine isnt a GFP yet, it is still Blue (see my website) but there are parts which I am sure are less blue than they used to be.

Yeah, there are some facts to the theory of "fading".
I stopped asking myself questions if it was normal to have a *GFP (I'm still going crazy about its beautiful sound)
I met a used 77FP in a store recently. It looked RATHER faded. i guess it has something to do with the amount of UV and solar radiation to which everything is exposed here in Thailand.
So why cure ageing guitar - it seems the situatios resembles that with wine, eh? The sound doesn't get worse...
Boy, I've just recalled the looks of Clapton's old Strat - man - it was scarred and bruised all over. Why wory about minor fadings - that's what makes us special again! 8-)

I just always make sure I leave my guitars that are not black (because I have never seen a black one fade) in the case. *

I have a SK and a BFP and both are very bright. *The only fading is the pink PUs in the SK.
