posting auction links?

just to clarify the warning, is it literal i.e if i post a direct click on link to an auction www.notanibanezauction.com or if i mention an auction number i.e on evil bay number 666666666 .
i can appreciate the link being booted ,but is it a ban for mentioning an auction number

i should have moved this to another category as well

Re: posting auction links?

Posting the auction number is ok. no need to mention the website since we all know where to look for it.

As long as it's not something you're selling

Re: posting auction links?

To clarify a bit further, it is not OK to post an item number if you are simply saying "Look at the great deal on item # 777777777". It is only ok to post item numbers if there is some legitimate discussion to be had concerning the item. For example, someone claims the guitar they are selling was Vai-owned, like say the triple neck heart guitar that was recently on the bay. It was ok to post the item number and ask is this really one that Steve owned or is this guy lying. Make sense?
And it is never ok to post "live" auction links, that's why they are filtered. But, for example, you could post one that you have already won and say "Look what I just won."

Confused yet?

Hope this helps.

This thread talks about it a bit too, specifically Rich's last comment...

Re: posting auction links?

That's a shame. $1000 on a chibanez. The winning bidder only has 1 feedback though so I wouldn't be surprised if it was an attempted shill.

There's also the "Vendors, Auctions, and Reseller talk" section of the site for those posts
