Pre-New Trem UV777BK Hot Rod Ideas?!?!?!?!?

Hello all,
Considering skipping the "GrEeNmEaNiE7" idea for now, and going with a newer UV777BK, but hot rod it to the following:
-Body to have Monkey Grip ONLY (And wipe out the pyramid inlay on the body, HELL NO!!!!)
-DiMarzio Tone Zone 7 in bridge spot only
-Single volume, no tone, but possibly coil tap, phase, ect., ect., like Trey Azaghthoth from Morbid Angel's UV7BK, but his has all 3 pickups
-Anything chrome or mirrored is gonna be black. Almost like a Les Paul Custom, all black with the bound body, neck & headstock. THIS MEANS THE FOLLOWING GETS REPLACED FOR THIS: TUNING MACHINES, BRIDGE AND POSTS, NUT AND RETAINER BAR, AND PICKGUARD.

This is gonna require the purchase of a UV777BK, AND an RG7620, and pulling a hardware swap. I wanna see how sick I can get a Universe to look and still strip the paint from the walls!!!!!!

If anyone wants to hear the stuff I use my lovely for, check out http://www.overfiendmusic.com. We JUST got a new kid to sing for us, so ignore the #$*%@ old singer. Still trying to get pics for everyone A.S.A.P. Thanks again, Josh in RI

UV777BK Hardware swap

Hey Rob,
Thanks, but I'm kinda strapped on the CASH issue, and I can do the swap myself. It's not that bad. The only thing I'd have to order is the new pickguard. I've taken apart my UV7BK before numerous times to hot-rod it, the only thing I won't do, is TRY to intonate the Lo-Pro Edge. All Floyd Rose's are like owning a Ferrari!!!! Thanks for the heads up though. I finally have decent pics of my beasts, but need to figure out a way to post them. If anyone knows how to do this, please email me at [email protected] Thanks again, Josh

i don't know if you read his post correctly mate. we was not offering to help you do the hardware swap in exchange for cash, he was offering you his hardware in exchange for yours, to save you cash.

Yet more of kennydoe's negative comments...

Anyways, I think it's a great idea. That will turn out to be one sweet axe!

Wouldn't it be less expensive (and less effort) to buy an all black 7620 and send it to LGM for pyramids and a handle?

Why defile a $1400 guitar when you could get the same look and feel for about half the money?

That's all i'm saying. I'm not always negative, i just call 'em as i see 'em. It's called reality. Some of he kids around here need a little of it.

As i own a UV777PBK im going to have to go with Kennydoe on this one. You are really taking it in the wrong direction. Black hardware would be cool, but too much black and its really not going to be as stunning as it already is. Its gonna look really cheap if you go with the grip.

go with black hardware. if you wanna look hardcore maybe go with a diamond plate pickguard, just a thought.

To try and straiten out the confusion, I'm going to need to take the Mercedez, and pimp it , baby! I pesonally think that a UV777BK would look hot all black, as I've never really been a big fan of chrome hardware. So, I'm going black, and I think instaed of the DiMarzio Tone Zone 7, go with the EMG 707. I've always loved the sound of EMG's and on a 7-string, it would be sweet. To try and get a REAL visual, Dino Cazarez of Fear Factory, Brujeria has a Universe the EXACT way I would like to pimp put the new one. There was a picture of it at EMG's website, but it's not there anymore. But, I've recently lost my job at Caterpillar, and this is going to take longer to do than I planned. And i'd trdae hardware with Rob, but I don't have the UV777BK yet, Just my UV7BK. I can deal with the well tarnished hardware on it, it is my stage piece after all. When I get the new Uni, I'll be sure to ask around about the hardware and everything else. I greatly appreciate everyone's advice and help, but it's just not the right time yet. Thanks again everyone.
