Price check - JS1000

I have a 2002 model JS1000 in black pearl. It is basically like new with only a few minor, unnoticeable blemishes.

This guitar has spent most of its life cased, due to going to college and mostly playing acoustic guitar solo for quite some time. However, I recently had an injury that has greatly hindered my ability to play. I may choose to get rid of this to help pay for my medical bills. What could I expect? I see them going used on Musician's Friend for $1300ish and *new* JS1000s for $1700ish.

If I have to sell this, what is a fair price?

Thanks in advance!

There is one that i have seen in the $600sh range on the lowest end, its been in production for a long time meaning they are many of them out there available, and not a whole lot of buyers.

Honestly, I check prices every single day, almost without pause. 800 is "low", 600 is an "awesome deal" if you are a buyer, unless it has significant damage. Supply vs demand, but theres also the intrinsic value of the instrument. If he wants to sell in a hurry, 6-700 would be the way to go. 900-1000$ is what I would sell one for Id think.

Re: Price check - JS1000

Thanks for the replies guys. I do have a hard case for it and its in excellent shape. I'm not in any hurry to get rid of it so I suppose I could ask full value, and honestly hope I don't have to. I just wish I could physically play it like it deserves to be played, but after getting my fingers broken and lacerated, its honestly hard to even chord, much less play leads. I could use the cash to pay down on hospital bills.

Re: Price check - JS1000

As promised, here are the pics. Would this qualify as excellent condition? Frets are good, holds tune quite well, no idiot scratches from belts or anything. Only a minor ding on the neck and minimal pick wear.

Is that a chip in the paint at the tip of the head stock?

Nope, just a reflection I believe. No chips in it at all.

Yes. The current neck profile first appeared in 1998.
