Problem with one harmonic

I've got a JEM 7 DBK and I have a problem with the harmonic on the g-string above the 5th fret.... this harmonic has no sustain as the other harmonics above this fret... I think the problem occured 2 string changes ago... can the string tensipn be the key?? My LoProEdge isn't perfect parallel to the body (on the low strings the distance is greater, on the high strings it's exactly 1mm(+-0,5mm)

thanks for helping

the harmonics are located on mathematical defined places on the string, the nodes of the waves. If the harmonic isn't exact above the 5th fret, try a litlle higher or lower. I hope you find some harmonic. Depending on the result, your must change the total string length on your bridge...longer or shorter.

Maybe there is a problem that your guitar absorbs the exact frequency of that harmonic (the opposite of resonance) so it doesn't sount as loud as the other harmonics.

Try switching to a different pickup. The bridge position Duncan JB on my main guitar picks up a lot of harmonics that the neck position '59 doesn't pick up so well, and vice versa.

The first thing I would check would be the intonation. Your harmonic spots can "move" if your intonation is out. The intonation guide on the Ibanez page is quite accurate:
