For some reason I was thinking this post was going to be a topic about sex education!

+1 but make sure you use the right clearcoat because if you use a wrong one the where you use it on can turn yellow. This happended to a friend of my brother when he tried to save his signature from Vai.

Re: Protection

So you clearcoat overtop an awesome guitar with a factory finish. That's what always sux about a signed guitar.

Which is why I just get the back trem cover plate signed. I mean just cause steve signed it......doesn't really make it worth more. I just look at the back of the guitar and say ....Wow. It gives me inspiration. But, I don't need the whole world to see it. I know it's there. Anyway, I understand your dilemma.

One of mine is signed by Satch.

Trem Cover

I had a 3m clear adhedsive applied over the cover. It is a clear automotive adhedsive designed to protect cars from stone chips, etc.

Re: Protection

Look at this. Mine is VERY signed

.... and yes, I want the whole word to see it.

I mean, I wouldn't want the signature in the front of my LesPaul but in the Jem... I mean, It's a Vai model so it has all the sense.

Clear coat seems to be the way to go.
