Push/Pull *volume* pot on JS1000?

Hi all,
I recently acquired a JS1000 made in 2000 in mint condition, all stock (even still had the peel-off protectors on all the plastic parts). It has the coil tap on the tone knob as normal, but the volume knob is also a push pull pot. When engaging it I can hear no difference.

What gives? Factory error?

Also, what kind of trems were being used on the JS1000's back in 2000?

Thanks!
sbm

The push pull pot on the volume knob is a high pass filter, engage the coil split and roll the volume back with the volume in both positions and you will hear a difference, I never use the coil split without engaging the high pass filter. If you just play with the volume up full you won't notice any difference, it retains the clarity as you lower volume.

When I opened that back and saw the caps I thought that's what it might be. Interesting that there is no mention of it in any JS1000 literature I've ever seen.

Thanks!

Guitarnoize is perfectly correct. The difference is not as apparent if your volume is on full. However, rolling the volume back to 3 or so will allow you to hear a much brighter tone than with the knob pushed in.

It's too bad it only works on the coil-split mode.

It works without splitting the coils as well.
