Question for the Ibanez gods

But I have an opportunity to own this guitar, but have no idea if it is legit. I read that these are one of the most faked guitars out there. I realy don't know what I am looking for...

Sorry they are small... I don't know how to make them bigger...

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

Looks like the real deal but, even when I went into your photobucket album, the pics were still too small. I would email whomever is selling the guitar and ask that person to send you high-res pics.

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

The photos I got were bigger than they post. I know that the poles of the center pickup should be silver, the last several frets should be scalloped, the logo should be gold, the serial should start with an F, the knobs should be the ones on the guitar, the fret board should be ebony for this year... this all applies... I can't tell the bridge form the pictures.

And the back of the headstock, I am not sure about... often times I see them with the "TEAM J" or something similar, but Thisone doesnt look to have that.

I am a little cautious because the owner wants to trade it for 2 of my lower end Jacksons and an old Charvel... weird...

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

Old JEM 7V don't have the "TEAM J-CRAFT" stamp on the headstock.
I think there are at least 3 kind of different stamp forms from 1993.
But serial number MUST start with an "F" as it's for "Fujigen Gakki", the japan factory.

If you can provide us bigger pictures it would be easier to help you.

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

Don't need bigger pics--it's legit. The trem is obviously a real Edge.

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

A good general starting point to tell if its fake or not is if the deal is too good to be true.

I think the tuners should say Gotah but not sure. It is a 2000.

Re: Question for the Ibanez gods

Would there be any markings if I took the neck off?

Links don't work, and cut/paste doesn't work either.

Probably because you have a Windows Live account. I suggest posting them on Photobucket, then pasting the IMG codes for the pics.
