RED UV (custom work)

Custom red stained Alder UV for Rikk Has Lacewood top, EVO7 bridge, Blaze middle and neck pups and will have an ebony fretboard with a red themed pyramid inlay. White/Black/White pickguard as well.

Some pics of a custom UV I am building up. The only original piece left is the pyramid neck. I wanted to make a 7 string version of the 7VWH. I made the body (Alder) with the 7 string claw and handle. Had the pups done by Dimarzio (White/Gold). Had the Lo-Pro and Nut gold plated. I made the Pickguard. A few more coats and polish and she is ready (I am currently making a 7 string vine neck to complete it.)

Here is a UV body I did for a friend. He wanted a Mahogany UV routed for direct mounted EMG's and rear routed electronics cavity. Added the claw and handle and here you have it. Made him the clear guard and cavity plates as well

John has one kick a*s custom guitar shop. His abilities seem to increase on what he can do there everyday. John is also building me a "workhorse" 7 string that will be a satin finished alder body with a monkey grip, set bridge (custom 7 string Warmoth bridge), volume and tone knobs will have the push/pull oprions with the coil split and high pass filter wired in, 7 string EVO in the bridge, 7 string Blaze pickups for the single coil and neck position. 5 way switch with a black/white/black pickgard, maple neck with an ebony fretboard (no inlays aside from side dot markers) matching satin alder veneer headstock. It should be a sweet sounding 7 string and add a cool contrast to the red lace topped 7 string.

DEFINITELY talk to John for custom guitar stuff!!!

I will have have to leave the red pyramid scheme "hush-hush" for now. At least until I get it done for Rikk. Sorry But it will be cool. Pics as soon as it is done!

The neck that is on it is just "for picture sake". That is actually not the neck that will be on it once I receive it.

Nice! I'm digging the lace UV.

It always kind of threw me for a loop as to why there was never really a Jem or UV that capitalized on the natural look of the wood (aside from the Root Beer Jems). When the "Bad Horsie" axe came out I was certain that they'd try and do soemthing with a much better grain wood and make it available publically but it never happened. There's some amazing looking bursts and quilts coming out and the Jem and UV line is looking more plain-jane by the day.

I'ds till like to do a blue-dyed quilt top and matching headstock or a grey-dyed quilt burst with some real nice binding one of these days. But if I'm going to do it I want to do it right; I want at least 3 grand to be able to invest in such a project so I don't have to cut corners and I can let a luthier really work his magic and make something amazing.
