Satch in Boston

OK sorry for the stupid Subject but I really didn't know what to put on
Yesterday I went to the Satc /Dream Theater show in Boston, first of all the sound was so off I couldn't understand anything but tmy eyes were glued to Joe's guitarsand I noticed few things
First of all the seven string they had two, one was played by Joe the other one by the other guitarist( I didn't catch the name), similr but not identical
Joe's had a one piece maple neck the other one had a three pieces
Maple /Bubinga a la JCustom, with the Bubinga part going staight up the headstock
Second, The Snake had the Maple/Bubinga neck as in the JCustonb as well Third, I thought that only Pearly had the Seimour Duncan but Yesterday he played this JS1000 or at least it looked like it with at least the neck pick up beeing a SD
Can anyone help me in this little curiosity game?

Sincerely

Stefano

Snake is an old JS1, and all JS's [except those between 92'-97'] have the skunk stripe. This is not "reinforcement", it's to cover the rear routed curved truss channell. A Jem has the truss rod routed right underneath the fretboard and is a straight channell, then the board is glued on. A JS has a curved channell routed out of the back of the neck and then the bubinga is glued in to cover it.

A JS doesn't, I have no idea what Gallen was playing, I might have looked at him twice all night

No No I'm really sure about the Bubinga center going through the headstock in both The Snake and Gallen 7 string, and yes I know about the Skunk stripe on JS models, I might not post as frequently here but I know my s&^t a little

Sincerely and thanx for the replies
Stefano

Again not to be pushy but I saw it clearly when they where taking the Guitars off the stege after the concert, I was not even 10 feet from them.
Maybe he was trying e new profile or the old neck kick the bucket
The other thing I forgot to mention is Joe's 7 has no skunk stripe

If it did it's had a neck swap since the Young Guitar pics of front and back, I still believe you're mistaken as you'd see the bubinga from the end of the head from the front.

I am going to have to agree with Rich on this one. Watch the webcast on Joe's site, part 4 on "Friends" he uses Snake and you can clearly see towards the end the back of the neck.

That isn't what they are discussing.

The stripe through the headstock is what they are talking about.

you're all nuts:
a neck swap is a 15 minutes job, and if Joe asks Brawer or Manning to do the job, i guess they will.
so what's the problem?
if MaialinoDivino states he was less than 10 feet when the tech took the babes off the rack, he surely knows it better then us all, even better than Rich.
i'd take this as an update.

I'll take it as a case of probable mistaken identity, until I see pics to the contrary
