Question Satch Whammy Bar Tricks

First I apologize, guess people ask this a lot, but I figured this forum is where all the Satch fans would be and you people would know best.
(I asked my local music shop and they were no help.)

My question is this:
I have an Ibanez S570B (in White, poor mans JS2400 White Satch guitar?)
which has the ZR tremolo with the ZPS (Zero Point System) on it.

Should I be removing the ZPS locking bar to be able to do the Satch whammy stuff? (IE: His signature squeal)

Do the JS series guitars have full floating tremolo??

Thanks.

Matt

Re: Satch Whammy Bar Tricks

The js trems are full floating systems, to get the squeal right you need to be able to pull up a little so you will need to remove the locking bar, they are dead easy to do though as long as you know the harmonic points over the pick ups, even joe himself is embarrassed to admit that his signature squeal is incredibly easy to do

Re: Satch Whammy Bar Tricks

I have 2 RGs with the ZR trem, and I have the ZPS bar in place on mine, and there is no issue with pulling the bar up...the trem bar will be looser feeling with the ZPS bar out but you can definitely pull up on the bar if you want with the ZPS bar left in. I prefer the tighter feel and better stability that you get with leaving the bar in but that's just a preference thing. As far as I know, the only thing you can't really do with the ZPS bar in is fluttering...
