That was what I'd thought too, but when Rich said he had it and he just dropped out of the thread, it kind of appears that he was just passing the time of day with the inquiry.

Damn that's odd. Where oh where is my long lost baby? Then it's found and that's it? I'm going to reference this thread when one of my currents finds me looking up an ex. "Just making sure she's good - everyone does it."

Makes just as much sense to me too.

Everyone, please help find this particular guitar that I once had, destroyed, sold and now wish so badly I could find again to abate all my regrets

Oh, you have it? I can't believe I've finally located it, after all these years!! Okay then, bye.

I personally think Rich is happy he didn't ask for it haha. He seems to give off the impression like "🙄 I... Have it... 😑." As he sits there hoping he doesn't ask to buy it lol.

I have been extremely busy with work and haven’t been able to respond. Also had lost my T-Mobile account and switching to Verizon catching up on emails. Today is my first day off...and I have been thinking of a response to Rich. And in tearing through old boxes to find where I have my pics I was referring to. To post. It was a lot to take in.. finding the man who is in possession of the guitar that was my past.. and his response.

This thread was a contender for best thread ever. It had everything:

- youthful passion
- a sweet swirled JEM
- epic timeline
- moment of craziness followed by regret
- the tortured search
- success against all odds (never tell me the odds...)
- eventual redemption
- cameo from Rich as the hero

But the abrupt cliffhanger ending? I didn't see that coming... Now what?

All we need is a score by John Williams and we’re done

There’s some funny folks in here. 😉 Reminding me that I need to go see that new Star Wars movie already. Thanks.
I was pretty intimidated when I saw Rich’s website..and the way he responded.
Of course I would give almost anything to have it back again. Thought that was obvious.
But yes, if I need to ask... I most likely cant afford to get that Jem back.
But more like ‘back to the future’ another favorite movie..
we all wish we could go back in time and do something differently and not lose things.. or have things again worth ALOT more money.. or lose things very important to us. But there is a reason for everything.
I AM very pleased it’s around...in good hands (other than being seperated from its neck) and it “maybe” I could someday afford to get it back.
But I will take it as another one of life’s learning curves.
I haven’t been able to find my little album with pics of that jem... after my last move. I only found one pic of really bad quality in another album. But im gonna keep looking.
I also had remembered those days of seeing a late 80s jem77fp all the time at my local music store for under 800 lol
I guess this is what getting old is all about.

Re: Searching..??!? Thank you

I still have the large chucks of the swirl you sent with it.

The only reason I had to get a better neck was the sharpie on the inlays. I seriously doubt I'll ever get the project done and will probably just parts it out, the parts are so expensive these days and that it wouldn't be the original swirl would hurt resale on it anyway.

Nothing is ever known without asking. Pretty easy to contact him, in, or out, of the thread and have a conversation to find out if you could get it back.

"I would give almost anything to have it back...", if true, means that you won't give up without at least trying.
