Should I get a new bridge for a Strat or should I buy JS100?

I am in a dilemma and need a second opinion. There is a JS100 that is in very good condition that I have the opportunity to buy for around $200. I really want this guitar - although I have it heard it is built rather cheaply. I also have a Fender Mexican Stratocaster that is pretty much stock, except for the Seymour Duncan Hotrails I installed in the bridge position, that'd I would really like to have a Floyd Rose installed in.

Should I spend $300 for a tech to order a real Floyd Rose and install it or should I buy the JS100 with the cheaper bridge for $200?

Tough one. I'd start by asking yourself what it is you're looking for exactly. With the JS100 you really are getting a bridge that's crappy compared to that Floyd, if it's a Floyd original. On the other hand, I'm not sure it's worth putting a nice trem in a Mexi-strat - seems like pouring fine wine all over your Taco Bell, but maybe it's a good way to go.

So think about what you want in terms of:

1) Trem stability - you'd pick the strat
2) Tone - I dunno, which guitar's tone do you prefer?
3) Looks - again, your call. Do you care?

If I were you, I'd pass on the JS and start looking for a good deal on a used RG (like a 570) or a used S with a good bridge... and keep the strat, since you know you like it.
