Something terrible happened... to my JEM

Today i was just playing my beautiful JEM505 blk.... I had to call my friend, so i put my hands off guitar. Suddenly the right side of the strap detached and my guitar fell on the floor. It was a terrible moment. I picked it up and found out that there are two finish scratches on the front close to the jack, but there is wood seen near the jack on the side. Also, low E string has detached from the bridge. I was sad, because it was such a beautiful guitar and I had it for a year now. I do like road worn guitars, but that's only one scratch and it's ugly. How have you reacted when you first stratched your precious jem? Did you care much or did you just accept it? Did you preform any actions on your guitar? Do you have any ideas for how should i hide it in a creative way? Like a pick holder maybe?

Thank you for your thoughts

Re: Something terrible happened

The good part is its a legitimate scar not some BS relic'd thing. I say accept it. If it makes you feel better I forgot to zip up a gig bag before I took it out of the truck, guitar slid out when I did and bounced around the cement. It happens

if it happens to me :
1. repaint or refinish it.
2. sell it and buy a new one.

If i wouldn't be so emotionally attached to this guitar, then i would be willing to sell it. But then a stratch wouldn be a problem, since i wouldn't care for that guitar as much as I do, so selling is definitley not an option.

It's funny, because I didn't get straplocks because I was to afraid to screw them in my guitar. However it obviously did more bad than good.

Touch it up with black automotive paint. I've used black fingernail polish in a pinch to keep chips from getting worse.
