Steve Vai Ibanez Guitars

I find this rumour hard to believe,"Steve Vai plays Ibanez guitars because of what Ibanez pays him to play Ibanez guitars and not the quality",some of these people that start bull**** rumours like this have no life to begin with,i had a bad arrgument with this person after a gig that i played(I play a prestige rg1550m) and some of the people at this bar believe this idiot, the quality of a high grade Ibanez is just amazing, has anyone ever heard such a rumour.

Re: Steve Vai Ibanez Guitars

Let's pretend for a moment that this was true. The statement "he plays for the money not for the quality" does not mean that the guitars are low quality, only an idiot would draw that conclusion from such a statement even if they believed it in the first place.

Beyond that, what could the basis for a "rumor" like this possibly be? I doubt Ibanez or Vai would say anything of this sort and anything else is utter heresay or completely made up by people with nothing better to do (I'm betting the latter).

On a side note, you seem to be the only one trying to spread rumors about Ibanez having quality issues around here lately.

Re: Steve Vai Ibanez Guitars

Anyone who works with these instruments on a daily basis UNDERSTANDS that their are good and low quality products from alot of the major manufacturers. The honest to god truth is that Ibanez high end stuff is simply phenomenal. Their isn't a floyd rose variant on the market that I would want on my main guitars. Im particularly fond of many different guitars from a number of different makers. Fender, Gibson, and PRS all have models that I frown upon, but their high end stuff is pretty good as well.

Ive met alot of such guitar snobs and most of them are not only terrible players, but rarely command the respect of their musician peers.

Re: Steve Vai Ibanez Guitars

Sentences that start with things like "I'm hearing" and "some guy told me" are not how you share info, that's how utterly baseless rumors and innuendo get passed around. Unless you have sources for your "info", what you're sharing is rumors. As far as anyone reading it is concerned, YOU are the source of the rumor. Therefore, you are spreading rumors. Whether you're "starting" them or not is another matter, I didn't suggest that, YOU did.

Re: Steve Vai Ibanez Guitars

While the high end Ibanez guitars are great, I am sure the $$$ has something to do with why Steve plays Ibanez. It has something to do with any guitarist who is big enough to have an endorsement deal which pays them to play specific guitars. Just ask Dave Mustaine. It doesn't mean they are not quality instruments. First and foremost, those guys can have anything they want, and their personal guitars are of the highest quality, regardless of the brand.

This line of conversation isn't even worthy of a thread.
