i would think if condition is 90% or better.. around 1500.00 street value.
I wouldnt pay that much for it but many would. I personally dont care for the MKR swirls but it is a swirl nonetheless

It all comes down to whether you like it enough.

Make sure the seller is reputable and can provide references and phone numbers etc...

good luck

Scott

It's a real swirl, but not done by ATD.
There were two kinds of UVMC's that came from Ibanez: *ATD's swirls, and the Japanese swirls. *
The Jap. ones are those that we call "MKR's" (Mustard-Ketsup-Relish). *They have a lot of yellow in them, and tend to look like you just twisted off the top of a McDonalds hamburger. *Jemsite.com Forum Member Dennis Secord coined the phrase back in 1998 (I think that was the year...someone remind me)
The ATD swirls generally have better color and swirl "action".

On a Ten Scale, I give it a 6. *It's just not my style.
Remember: *due to the nature of the swirls, how good they look is EXTREMELY subjective.

I'm with Scott on the price too...no more than $1500. *But that's just me.
I've really only liked one swirl, and damn Rich won't sell it to me :-).

hey thanks!

I've been an observer on and off for a long time.
but now I thought I'd better register a username so here I am
the only swirl I 101% like is vais on the PAW cover. I have
nicknamed her "hawk" because on the upper horn close up a part of
the swirl looks like a hawks head and eye (IMHO).

That's the one in Oz if memory serves. A bud of mine checked it out and the head was pretty ratty and something else was too (although exactly what I don't remember)

I'm with most on this, i would prefer an ATD swirl (Darren is The original and officail ibanez man) Like i've just had done on my 777SK see here. http://www.ibanezregister.com/test_page2.htm *but it is a UV77MC so its got to be worth the 1500 talked about, my own betting would be that the guy will try to sell for nearer 2000.
whats he asking steveo?

I know there was one on ebay just recently from flight72. i think its still for sale on rich's site under the private sellers list. i've dealt with him before on catalogues, and he's reliable. just another option, but not sure if thats sold yet.
basically for a real nice example i'd put aside $2000

i know of a few over here, but no one parting as yet. although one guy did say for the right price he would, however what the 'right price' is, is another matter. i can give you the contact if you like though.

That swirl looks terrible. I'd rather have a Fede swirl than that. Of course an ATD swirl is the most desirable, my fave being the DNA.

oh btw, not sure if his has been mentiond, but apart from the obvious colour issue on the black pickup, did you spot the screw colour on the pickguard? maybe just with it being a very light coloured swirl that someone thought to do away with the original black screws.

Stevo,
Is the seller from the UK?

i.e. is he asking 1500? (as opposed to $1500)

If so, personally I'd pass it up.

If construction is you major worry then it may be worth it in your eyes, but if you value a finish too then 1500 is too much for it I'd say.

It's just too non-descript, very blocky.

buy it for 1200, send it to Darren along with $400 ish, wait.....and wait....... then you'll have a real nice swirl with all the dings and dent taken away and all the right bits, (bar the bridge pickup) tp have a very nice and desirable uv77mc

i'm with steve on this.

wait if you can and get what you realy want.
