Swirls or regular finishes?

Well, what do you prefer? Is it the more modern white/black/blue finish, or the older, swirls? This is the topic to debate which you prefer. As i'm sure glen knows, i'm not a fan of swirls at all, and i'm wondering if there is anyone on here who is of the same opinion as me. So far, i have only seen people praising swirls. Anyone?

There are a TON of threads the discuss various opinions on swirls. Use the "Search" engine and I'm sure you'll be able to find them.

alot of swirls are love or hate... and 10 people will likely have 10 different opinions of them. to me, when you find the right swirl, they're cool in moderation ...glen

It depends on both you and the guitar.
Sometimes people view swirls as art, same as a single color paint job such as the VWH... both my UVMC and VWH are beautiful to me for their own reasons.
It's the same as women... some guys are into horse-faced beasts, and some are into the supermodel look. Beauty comes in various perception, not looks : )

(Edited a bunch of times due to effing typos. These keyboards fill up with dust fast! ARGH!!!)

Yes, but as with swirls, supermodel to you may be horse faced beast to someone else

Take YaYoGakk for example, I sure hope some woman finds him a supermodel someday, cuz he's definitely part of a horse LMAO!!!!!

Swirls look so cheap to me...I mean anyone can swirl (yes, even YOU can swirl with some practice) but not everyone can paint a cool picture on a guitar.

Not everyone can paint a nice picture... and not everyone can make a good lasagna, either.

spoken like someone who's never actually swirled a guitar. No offense to the home swirlers here, but look at Darrens or Hercs work, vs a home job, tell me there is no artistic talent in that. Swirls are unique in everyway, and swirling is no easier, or harder, than painting a cool picture, if it was so easy, you'd think there would be more doing them wouldn't ya?

SWIRLS ROCK

Alden, it disturbs me that you are so involved with stallions, you do realize that is not only immoral, but illegal right? you should seek help
