The main difference is that the body wood of the JS10th isn't wood at all

It's a man made substance called Luthite. The tone is great though and the other differences apart from the Edge trem rather than the Lo-Pro Edge seem to me to be purely cosmetic.

About $2000, depending on condition.

As Jono mentioned, the 10th has an Edge trem and the 1000 has a lo pro. To me that's a big difference...the guitars that Joe uses (ones with trems) all have the Edge trem....I'm sure it's a marketing thing, but how could an artists signature axe not be equipped similarly to the ones that the endorsee plays....even the JS1000 Joe currently uses has been fitted with an Edge trem and all chrome hardware.

A JS900 is more like it....chrome hardware and original edge.

I will admit to being very curious about the whole "trem issue" a curiosity that's been compounded since the release of the new "Edge Pro" bridge.

In truth, I think Ibanez should be sticking the original edge on the guitars, rather than putting a trem that's a step further away from that which the artists use on them

(Is everyone getting the message that I don't trust the new trem yet ? )

Joe has quite a few guitars that have Lo Pro's still on them. His Rainforest, a couple Rainbows, and a couple Donnies at minimum.

I thought all of the pre 1000's (JS1,2,3,4,5) had original Edges on them....Huh.

Stay focused now dude, Edges for 90' and 91', then everything is Lo Pro except the 900 and the 10th.

Hi...

hope this isn't off-topic. I was wondering how big is the weight difference between a JS1000 and a JSY2KPLT? The crystal planet guitar i mean. I own a JS1000BP and as much as I love it, I'm so jealous of those guys with the JS10th or JSY2K. Damn!! Even a JS90HAM anniv. model. Oh yeah, what does the HAM stand for?

thanks for any answers!

Sort of an average rule of thumb, but bathroom scale measurement.

JS1000 - 7lbs.
JS10th - 8lbs.
JS2K - 10lbs.

Thanks guys!!

damn. that's an extra 3 lbs the JSY2K has on the JS1000. Quite a difference.

I wonder how rare is the JS90HAM compared to the JS10th or JSY2K? It seems that the JS90HAM never gets mentioned compared to the other 2 models. I know they are all limited editions but how many of each were made? sorry for the dumb questions.

cheers
