Things not to do to an LNG?

I just bought one yesterday and while its on its way here I want to know what not to do to it?

I know leaving it in sunlight is a big no-no. Anything else?

BTW, thanks to Bryan C and Rich @ ibanez rules for confirmed its the real deal! Ill be posting an NGD soon.

Make sure you wipe down the hardware every time you play it.
Use a micro fiber cloth for cleaning it.
Skin oil will eat up the finish over time.

what's the deal with light and sunlight, mine lng, dy, and sk all hang on a wall. They're not in direct sunlight but there is a small, english basement by them....anything to worry about? I really want them hanging on display.

Re: Things not to do to an LNG?

With the exception of the pickups, for whatever reason LNG doesn't seem to have any major light fading issues. SK is bad news bears and DY isn't great either. On all of them, the pink pickups don't react well to light. I keep all my neons in cases when not in use for this reason.

If you insist on having them on display, I would tint the windows of the room they're in. I used the product 3M Night Visions 15. The Night Visions 25 (25% of light passes through) is commonly used by art galleries to remove UV light.

That's the one thing I considered was tinting the windows by the guitars. It's such minimal light, but I'd hate to see them fade.

Now I just need to find rims and hydraulics to go along with the window tints

Re: Things not to do to an LNG?

I will get my LNG from Australia in some weeks . I need some advice how to protect the signatue (on the body). So far my plan is to use 3M clear protection film. I make one sheet a little bit bigger than the other one. Put them together. Then there will be no glue on the signature, just in a frame arround it.
