Top JS players

I was just thinking about what my top JS models are. Not for looks and sitting in a case but the ones I actually use the most. I have a large number of JS guitars as some of you know but if I had to reduce myself to three I think I know which ones they would be.

These are my top 3 players:
JS1200 (locking stud mod)
JS2000 (PAF Joe/Mo'Joe)
JS1600 (Chromed with Chrometop PAF Joe/Mo'Joe)

What about other people?

Ibanez JS Black Dog

"Sugi Custom Shop, these are the highest quality JS guitars ever made!"

Anyone with one, should play it! A true instrument!

Re: Top JS players

I'm tempted to get one just because it's a Sugi even though I can't stand the "artwork". I doubt I'd find one for a price I could deal with though.

Re: Top JS players

If I wanted a JS as a player, I'd be looking at a white JS1000, or a red JS1200. I'd also probably be looking for a near-immediate refret to 6100.

Re: Top JS players

Drew, I'm guessing you meant JS1600? If so do you have one that needs a refret or is it that you don't like the 1600's Frets?

All JS models have the same frets.

6100 is type of fretwire, tall and wide,

usual fretwire is 6105, tall and narrow.

Nope, 1200 in candy apple red. And JS guitars ship with mediums, which I feel like are too small for me to really be comfortable on. I'd strongly prefer 6100. It's playable, but for a shredder known for his bluesier side, I'd have expected more bend-friendly specs.

+1 on the JS1200. I see these <$900 in great shape in CA even and the color is nice. it's like heaven for real players taking advantage of "guitarists" who want new (Ibanez) toys. Strike while the iron is hot.

Frets don't matter in any way to me (like the 6105) though.

How's pricing on the white 1000s these days? I know the guitar on the cover of Crystal Planet is a chrome, but for some reason (the white cover probably, lol) I've always associated that album with the white JSs, and at that kind of money it would never be a main player of mine but it'd be a fun guitar to have in the stable.

Re: Top JS players

When I look at Reverb and feebay I don't see the 1200 that low. Are you talking CL or local shops?

Re: Top JS players

Not seeing white but $849 for JS1200CA in excellent condition in TX. PM if you want a direct link. Reverb is seemingly loaded with romanoffs (brokers and dealers).

Re: Top JS players

Romanoff used to mean any idiot that tried to get 2-3 times fair market value for something. Evidently now it's anybody that's in the musical instrument business....

Edge Pro 1200's always sell for less than Edge.
