I would keep the FP especially if it is in mint condition.

Re: trading jem77fp with jem7vwh

I almost made similar trade just a few weeks ago. My minty 2008 7vwh for his '97 FP, which is beat up, but my friend and I gave it a sweet set up and fixed all it's bugs and it plays so good. My 7vwh plays so good too, and I wanted his FP for sentimental reasons as I loved playing it and recording with it back in the day. To be honest , even with his guitar being a bit beat up, I thought it was a fair trade. I felt the FP is much more rare than a 7v. WOuld have been a fair trade also cause I love his FP and he loves my 7vwh. But if both guitars are in great condition I would say the FP is worth more, and will hold value better than the 7vwh. I don't think even swap is fair for the FP owner. It's not miles off, but I feel the 7vwh keeps coming out, and are common enough. I mean if you walk into guitar center and look on the used wall are you most likely to see a 7vwh or a FP? I'd saw def a 7vwh. Hope that is helpfull!!

Warm Regards
-Kev

Until they start making good VWH's again, I wouldn't.

I must've missed any previous discussion. What's going on with the latest VWHs, Rich?

Thanks for all the advice and opinions.... The new jem7vwh looks tempting hahhaa... Its as good as new....but most of my friend i ask say the same thing, not worth the trade as the jem7vwj doesnt holds the value well and my very good condition floral jem is hard to come by again if i wanted it again....

I guess the older jems are better quality in material and wood use and better QC

Re: trading jem77fp with jem7vwh

It's been discussed in several threads. Starting in 2011 they would not intonate on the wounds and the wounds over half scale sound aweful, the low E being the worst. The engineers think they fixed it and first 2013 batch came in, just barely intonate on the wounds, and while it's not fingernails on a chalkboard, the low E over half scale has far too many unwanted overtones. They're not good yet, and the Lefty's all came in the same way, so now everybody here is fully aware and pushing Japan to find the answer. But there are no good 2011/12/13 VWH's except 7V7's.

Re: trading jem77fp with jem7vwh

The 7vwh has the evolution pickups.. you FP may have dimarzio P.A.F pups.. patent applied for..based on the old Gibson pups, my friends '97 did. also the FP has the body mounted pups where the 7vwh has the thru the pickguard ones.. noticed the neck was different and also his FP has the square heel neck plate where the 7vwh has the curve with no plate or whatever. Just things that may build even more value on your FP. I like 'em both a lot!!

So would advise not buying a vwh these times (even from you), or are they perfect, once they go through your platinum package ?

Re: trading jem77fp with jem7vwh

Keep the Flora and buy a used-mint VWH. I own many Jems/UVs and can honestly say that my 88' Floral is by far the best sounding and feeling guitar I have. Something about that fabric/PAF-Pro sound. Would never let it go.

I have not stocked any. I have one paid customer waiting patiently until they test out normal again. As for the lefty's all preorders are being given the choice if they want to continue with full disclosure of course, since they're not going to make any L's for another 5 years.

Are they (Ibanez) handling this aspect of production better with the Premium 70V?
