Tricked out 90th

:frog:

OK, now I know I'm the proud owner of one of the 759 (minus 1) = 758 Jem 90 HAM ever made : cool !

I must admit the pic is quite nice, but I think mine is not too bad, showing the guitar as it was originaly designed :

My 90th

Maybe I'm a bit conservative, but I like it !!!

The Roland midi pickup allows you to hook to and control an external midi device such as a guitar synth.

I JUST WANNA SHRED !!!!

(See other threads for a Zappa-esque explanation )

Seriously (?), on this modified guitar, I really like the metal knobs, but 3 knobs on a Jem looks like 3 t!ts on a girl (remember total recall ???). And yes, for me, a guitar is designed to be a guitar. For the rest, any synth is welcomed. Maybe I'm getting old, but when I hear what Mr Vai, Mr Satch, Mr Romeo, or Mr Petrucci can do with 6 strings, hot pickups and their fingers, I don't need any gizmo to be added on my guitar. What I like in guitars is their wood and their soul, and I think both are very linked. The custom job here was very well done, but to me, the guitar doesn't have a soul anymore. That's what I meant in my previous post, but it's only my little point of view. Anyway, I love my 90th as it is !!!

I don't get it, are you saying this is a good thing or a bad thing?

TH 31 : that's for me definitely a bad thing !!! Maybe I should have chosen : "like a car with two steering wheels", "a glove with six fingers", or something like that. For me, Jems have an aesthetic that is their own, and when I see a modified one, I don't like it very much....

And for the 3 t!ts, I still recommend Total recall, you'll see it's not very apettizing... (but TR is still one of my favourite movies)

PS : try to imagine Britney with a third "knob", and you'll understand me :rotf:

i think Vai's whispering a prayer has soul...and he is using a beefed up old floral pattern guitar (changed to what looks like a 7vwh). *It doesn't have the midi, but it does have the sustainer, and the three knobs (t!!ties if you will). *I would walk 500 miles just to play that guitar. *It has just as much soul as a church on sunday morning, both look and sound wise. *
The thing about a guitar with soul (appearance wise) oftne boils down to how 'used' it looks. *That 90th looks prestine, which maybe takes away from its general look of playability. *But work that puppy in, carve your name on it, so to speak, and it would probably be fantastic.
As for midi implemention, and extra....yeah....well, I just don't care. *I once had a sears guitar with built in distortion!!! That thing sounding like crap, but it worked. *U just have to make it work for good purposes, and it becomes a breathtaking innovation!! *
I like it.

Tricked out 90th

Machinehead has sold one of these before, even though it was a 7bsb. I've got a picture of it somewhere... On the bsb I though it was quite cool, but seeing a 90th like this just makes me wanna cry...
The 90th is perfect as it is... I just LOVE mine...

(Flo is no longer a re-sprayed FP, it's now a standard 7VWH body, which has been routed for the Sustainer)
