Universe Vibrato options

Greetings all!!
I own 3 Original Ibanez Universe's, all of which have chipped knife edges in the vibrato/bridge assembly. I see mention of different (updated) vibrato/ bridges available but can't find an Ibanez dealer who knows a damn thing about them. Can anybody give me a quick rundown on my options or perhaps a source that could?
TIA and Happy Holidays!

Options

1. Replace the knife edges
2. Replace with new Lo Pro's.

The new bridge will not retrofit your UV's.

I wonder if he's just noticed that one knife edge is straight while the other has that little dip in it. Many people see that and think it's damaged.

I prefer to believe he has enough intelligence to look at 3 identical curved knives and not think they were all chipped that way, but then, chips are rare enough as it is to have all 3 chipped. Hmmmmm.

Thanks for the vote of faith, Rich! I'm not the sharpest pencil in the jar but not completely stupid either They are definitely chipped, one will not zero, one has a no-mans land between zero and a 1/4 step sharp after the bar has been raised but returns to zero after lowering the bar and the third is still sevicable. How about a source for knife edges and/or a shop that could install a new lo-pro?
Thanks again!

Have you physically inspected them? Because that sounds like normal operation to me considering the studs they have

Yes, I've inspected them and, they are in fact chipped up.
So, you're saying that due to bad post design, my best option for trouble free vibratoing is to have a shop install new lo-pros?

3 new Lo Pros is going to cost you. I'd replace the knives only, and put in some ofr the current studs

Do you know of a place where I could purchase the knives, studs, and new lo-pro. I'd like to try the new unit on, at least, my main axe.
Thanks again for all the help!

It's just Ibanez parts...look on the Ibanez site...write down the numbers. Any Ibanez dealer can order stuff for you. It's just all too easy...

Thanks Texter. I can't find an Ibanez dealer (Guitar Center, etc.) that knows or cares anything about my plight. I was hoping somebody knew of a dealer or shop that is willing to handle such a transaction.

You've been talking to one. But, no cosmo in stock, only chrome and PC, no knives in stock. Ordered, heard back once, but haven't gotten a reply since. Tis the season.....

Rich, your parts page says you have some in stock. What's up with that???

So do Ibanez dealers even have a number for the knife edges? Mine are pretty bad too.

If you think Hoshino updates their page slow think again. That's an Excell spread sheet, it takes me forever dealing with the thing in Frontpage, and as long as the one in my PC is accurate, oh well
