Used 1991 UV-7PWH ?

Hey everyone. I am posting this in hopes of getting some more expert opinions on this guitar before I buy it.

Short background, I am an American living in Japan, and I came across this 1991 UV-7PWH from a used goods shop.
It has its shortcomings, very worn (although I dont mind that aspect at all, enjoy the worn in EVO type look), has some
of the parts exchanged (different pickguard which looks like its from a UV-7PBK) and different color pickups (although they are manageable Dimarzio Tone Zone models replacements according to the ad) and the worst part if there is one, is that it says the higher frets have been scalloped (which I cant tell the quality of by the photos, and I dont know if it was pro done, or just amateur by the previous owner)

It is listed for 750 dollars, and with some work I think I could bring her back to original shape after replacing the parts with what it should have (white pickguard, white Blaze pickups, re-decal the headstock, ect.)

Since these Japanese made originals are moderately rare and highly rated, do you guys think it would be worth the money to pick this up and restore it?
Love to get your opinions!

I would, but it depends if you have the skillset or if you're going to sub the work out, big difference in costs!

If the neck is not warped, and pickups good and trem knife edges are good then it's a very good purchase IMHO at $750 but don't bother "restoring" it except to make it look how you want. Someone really ugly-fied the nicest vintage looking UV made.

Ah yes, I would be doing the work myself. I have quite a few years experience. Thanks for the input! Never had a 7 string before, want to start using this for heavier sounds, so this seems like the best guitar available in most players opinions. I've had nothing but 6 string 80's RGs until now...

It looks good structurally, neck and trem wise. Yes, I agree restoring it would be unneccessary, but I would replace the pickguard and pickups to at least get the colors right! I totally agree, I couldn't believe anyone would think to mess up the look this much... such a beautiful guitar otherwise. Looks like I will have a black UV-7PBK pickguard (I can see in the close up it has the green stripe in the middle ply) if anyone wants it The bridge pickup installed is a Tone Zone, and the neck is an Air Norton. Big sound difference in comparison to the Blaze II's? Replace with original Blaze II's or just keep the black ones and do the white vinyl humbucker sticker fix to get it looking right I wonder...

Again, thanks for the advice!
