Question Used JEM with upgrades - Q about trem action?

Hi all! I just purchased a used 2010 JEM7VWH from Sweetwater for $1400. Someone had really taken time and money on this one:

1. The bridge and neck pickups were swapped out for Seymour Duncans (Screamin' Demon and Pearly Gates Neck) <- The Screamin' Demon is a bit thin . . . I have an EVO2 already to replace it The Pearly Gates neck is wired in parallel and sounds GREAT clean.
2. The middle pickup was swapped out for a TV Jones single (which sounds really good!)
3. There is a Rockinger Black Box trem stabilizer installed
4. Someone had swapped out the Edge Pro for an original Edge.

The guitar is pretty much 100% finish-wise and the action is great! Love it!

The trem stabilizer was annoying me because it made the trem super stiff. It almost feels like a hard tail until you *lean* on the bar - subtle trem movement just wasn't possible. BUT - after removing the trem stabilizer the tone noticeably changed for the worse. The stabilizer really made the darn thing sound better - it's way thinner and obviously quieter without it.

So the question is - do any of you have a Rockinger trem stop in place that allows subtle bar movement and a slinkier feel? Is there a way to adjust it for better action? Maybe use few trem springs?

Thanks all!

I don't like the stiffer feel of the trem equipped with an stabilizer either. I tried the Black Box once and disassembled it.

You can set the Black Box spring very light and set your trem springs that the sustainer block is just touching the Black Box. So you'll have almost the floating smoothness but a little bit of stabilizing effect.
