UV Serial# format

Whats the format with serials that dont seem to start with a year date? Say 25****

whats the guitar and is there a prefix letter?

its a UV7BK doesn't have anything other than the serial number on the neck plate, no prefixes. Can only assume that for some reason it has just been given a general quantity serial number....weird!
