UV777 string selection , will this mess up my trem?

I have a UV 777 and when i got it it has really light strings on it possibly 9'-52.

I play metal and want a beefier string but dont want to mess up my trem or neck. Is it possible to buy packs with a top of 13 or 12 to a 64 or 70 low string?

also will this mess up either my neck and or trem?

also who sells a custom set of strings similar to that all i can find are 10 -56 ?

thanks in advance

Your best bet will probably be to go to juststrings.com and order individual strings. That way, you'll get everything exactly the way you want it.

I think I once put a set on with 62 or 64 at the bottom and these almost max'd out the springs. If you go higher you may need shorter/thicker springs.

10-60 on a 7620- I need four springs to keep the tension up on this, but I see no reason why you couldn't go to five springs and use a 74... Although, it's worth noting that i believe an .80 is the largest string youc an get through the stock tuning peg- you'd either need to (CAREFULLY) drill it out more, or replace it with a bass peg.

I have a .74 on my 2027, tuned to low A, and the string is too thick to get in the peg, but you can cut off the ball end as much as the thinner part of the string goes through the peg.

I have 3 springs, and the guitar is fully intonated. No problem.
rest of the strings is 10-52, regular D- tuning D-G-C-F-A-D.

Most Universes are set up for 9s right out of the factory. If you wanna use heavier strings, by all means go ahead, but you need to adjust the spring tension to compensate for the extra string tension; you also need to tighten the trus rod so the neck can with stand the pull of heavy strings. I really don't recommend using anything heavier than 10's on guitars with neck this thin but it's your guitar and it's your music. Just make you sure make the proper adjustment, namely the trus rod and spring. If those are properly adjusted, heavier strings shouldn't do any damage.
