UV77MC's

Seems to me that since people think their UV77MC's are worth at least $1000 more if they have an ATD swirl on them vs a Japanese swirl that everyone would be sending their MKR's to ATD for a PAWF swirl to be done for $550. I mean heck, buy a MKR for around $1400 (even less if there is paint damage) and then have an original PAWF swirl done by the man himself and make your guitar now worth more than double (just cause of the paintjob).

I know Darren has done some PAWF swirls on MKR's. Anyone have any before and after pics of their's being done?

Bt then it's not "original" and really only adds the cost of the swirl

So if a JEM777DY was dinged all to hell and someone had a new neon yelloow paintjob done to it...... it would not be original and would be worth less than an original neon yellow paintjob? Even if you could not tell the difference? Even if it was painted by the same guy on the assembly line that did it in the first place?

Well it would be original since it was not swirled by Darren the first time. It will be a UV77MC with an original ATD swirl.

It would be worth more than the dinged up DY, but never what a crisp "original" is [but since we're talking small dollars [relatively] it would only mean a couple hundred,

Not correct, it's"original" with the MKR swirl. It's not after it's been stripped, reswirled, and more importantly, re-cleared [not by Hoshino}. And if you think you can't tell the difference, pull the neck and match up the paint transfer [much less the clear WILL be different.

A guitar is only "original" once!

So Darren does not do as good of work on clear coats as Hoshino?

Wether it's as good or not, it's not original, and it will be different.

So which clear coat is better then>? Darren's or Hoshino's? What makes the one better or different from the other?

I'm a purest, I'll take factory original anyday. Others might not care. YMMV

Is not that people *think* the ATD's are 1K more...they actually *ARE*.
