Vai with 77FP with a pyramid neck

Hi,

Flicking through an old issue of Guitar World over the weekend (about 1991 with Satch & Vai on the cover), there is a pic of the two of them playing live with SSV playing an FP with a pyramid neck, but still with an FP headstock. It looks real cool.

I take it these weren't produced at all?

Should be this one.

This is not a production model. As it says, this was one of the very first florals ever produced, surely a prototype built for SSV.

Cheers,

Fabe

Well Markie,
the pickups has been marked with a black marker!!! I don't know why because it's ugly...
If you want more pictures of that"used to be beautiful"guitar... Check the guitar extravaganza tab book (tab for "eat'em and smile" and "skyscraper"... There's several pictures of Steve with differents fp!
See ya

As for the "crime" of coloring the p/u's black, there could be a really simple explanation.
If in fact that guitar was a prototype, maybe Steve had 2nd thoughts about the pink p/u's, grabbed a black Sharpie real quick, colored away for a minute, stepped back and took a look at his master piece....
"Nah, I'll stick with the pink!"
Maybe, maybe not.
Only Steve knows, and he ain't talkin'.
