Re: VSBL or BSB

I've got a BSB and it's a great guitar. I first saw one for sale in the UK about 6/7 years ago and have always preferred it to the other Jems looks wise; just looks more metal to me, and I love the finish. Plays just as well as other Jems I've played, and I get on better with the non-paint finish anyway. I just think it's a bit more individual than the other ones.

Wow..this is a hot topic ! Thanks for your input guys - intersting to hear both sides and infact the BSB is calling me a little louder now. Platic inlays on the VSBL - thats bad....and Rich's point about it being nothing more than a VWH in blue is very true, i have a VWH already....

Yeah, it's rugged...I wouldn't want all my Jems to be pretty

That said, for certain styles (or a certain age) if you want a less "over the top" jem, the VSBL is the perfect choice (id take a PBK, but they are harder to find).

But the BSB is not only about the looks (BTW they look great the way it is, a vine would ve looked out of place in that guitar), it`s just feels completely different, and it sounds different. Its a guitar definately worth trying.
I think this somes it up IMO...

You'll notice the minute you play it.

I had one and sold it. Don't recall why.

I think it's funny that the VSBL was such a poor seller at the time - nobody wanted one, it seemed...now everyone's coming out of the woodwork.

would it still work the same if you sanded the paint of a normal jem?

Worse than a woman Make up your mind already, or I'll have to start calling you Mrs. B

BTW - nearly all the Jems have plastic inlays. Although the VWH has MOP/Abaloney, the large white leaves are plastic.

Either way you decide to go, you can't go wrong with a Jem

Re: VSBL or BSB

Dude, you shouldn put the decistion on sombedy elses shoulders. Go TRY both. If you already own a 7VWH (and its one of the late ones with rosewood freatboard) then you already own the VSBL.

The BSB is guitar that needs to be seen and tried in person to fully apriciate it.

Re: VSBL or BSB

don't close it...Did you try both? What did you think and why did you choose the BSB over the VSBL?

Inquiring Minds want to know.

Well if he owns a VWH (and its a post 2003 VWH) he tried the VSBL, because they are identical (aside from the colour).
