VSBL or BSB

I've been offered both in almost mint condition (ex dispaly) but cant afford both (boo) which one? There both gorgeous!!
(i suppose the BSB will be more collectable and the VSBL more playayable as the BSB finish wears off - is this true)...thanks JEMLords.

Re: VSBL or BSB

Play them both thru a rig as similar to yours as possible and make your choice. The BSB does sound different than most other Jems due to the matte finish. Some like it, some don't.

Don't take collectibilty and resale into account. Neither one is considered a 'collectable' and you're buying it to play it right? You're paying for it so you can play it, not so you can sell it for a profit in 10 years.

Enjoy!!!

VSBL if it's pre 03'.

To me, a Jem just isn't a Jem without vine or Pyramid inlay. --Jason

Re: VSBL or BSB

The 02' has the Lo-Pro trem which most folks prefer over the EdgePro which is on the 2003 - present Jems.

Re: VSBL or BSB

If I had to choose between them, I'd choose the VSBL. The BSB is cool, but I like the VSBL better. Of course, me saying that doesn't help you one bit, so you should should just play 'em both and see.

Kind regards,
Myst and rain

Re: VSBL or BSB

Ok VSBL is a neck ahead! But - the BSB finish looks cool, if it only had vines and scallops then thats the one, but alas...it dont.

Re: VSBL or BSB

I also love my '02 VSBL, but then again, it's my only Jem. Incidentally, I did the same pearl pickguard mod as JJ and think it looks even better that way. A highly recommended mod if you do get the VSBL.

Also, I most certainly agree with the notion that a Jem isn't really a Jem without a Vine or Pyramid inlay. The BRMR is what it is of course (or was, in any event), but it absolutely should have had a chrome vine, it looks 100% better that way.
