Re: Want a DNA??

The "nicer" bit is highly subjective and opinion only.

I like the complexity of the ATD swirls.

Herc does nice stuff, too, but they are like night and day.

Nice 1st attempt though.
I always thought the helix in the original DNA was understated and not very similar to the conventional double helix you see in medical books.

2) Something you can gig with without damaging your original etc.......

and as you can see from the 2 pics - Hercs Swirls are far nicer

Yes Kurac, the original DNA's swirl looks like an abatoir floor

I know its subjective and that you are entitled to your opinions, but I wouldnt say the Herc's DNA swirls are better then Darren's.

You may say that this particualr swirls is nicer than the particular DNA you chosed to show, but Ive seen some AMAZING ATD swirls and I go as far as saying that Herc swirl is good enough to be compared to the average DNA swirl, though it has a different colour palette (so Im talking about comparing patterns).

BTW, if you don't like the opinions you asked for in the 1st place, you may be in the wrong business.

Re: Want a DNA??

Both artists swirls are alot different, from what i have seen of Herc swirls they are more clean cut and consistent but some lack character, that DNA looks sweet to me althrough the green could be more bright, Tom.

I don't take the link Rich, that because its 1 of 300, and its worth $8k, that means its a lovely swirl......... Nah

Anyway Rich, my thread was to assess if people would be interested in buying a COPY of a DNA Jem, that is affordable....... NOT to argue the discrepancies...........

Re: Want a DNA??

I like it - clearly very different to a genuine DNA but very nice all the same.

How much Max?

Re: Want a DNA??

I absolutely HATE anything that's a copy.

It's worth $8k because it's a very good DNA, again, you have no taste in swirls.

Re: Want a DNA??

$8k for that nasty DNA? Just shows ya people are just paying stupid money for the object alone and not looks. Ibanez could sell a limited number of JEMs paint baby crap brown and it would price high. Same crap (pun) diffrent color.

The people that will buy ibanezking's DNA's are the smart money minded ones who are going TO PLAY the damn thing not just wipe a real one with a dyper.

Im the guy that see two diffrent people here, the ones that make money re-selling over priced Ibanezs vs people making ones that people can afford and play without killing the factious over inflated value.

I always side on the DIY side.

Edit: mispelling

The guitar is a good alternative to a perticually rare beast that is hardly ever for sale and therefore people look for alternatives, after all who on here would sell there DNA?- no one.

Re: Want a DNA??

I can't see the pic you all are referring to, so I can't make a comment on the swirl. Where ever the pic is hosted at is blocked here at work, but I'll see it at home when I get there.

So the question remains - how much would you charge for these DNA copies?
