what color for straplocks?

i'm going to get some dunlop straplocks for a 7Vsbl i'm getting. i was wondering which color i should get them in. they come in gold, nickel, black, and brass. i don't think any of these colors would go good with the hardware. gold and brass are out. nickel is too shinny when the rest of the hardware is a dull color. i'm thinking black since the pads on the nut and string posts on the tuners are black. a lot of people say that the straplock screws don't fit, but they fit on my rg570.

what do you think?

Ummmm....duhhhhh, Rich. Dunlop Straplocks don't come in blue.

I'd go with black personally...that's what I've got on all of my Cosmo Black-equipped guitars, and it looks great!

yeah, i think i'll have to go for the black.

hey rich, on your site it says the 7vsbl has "alder body with basswood laminate"

so every other layer is basswood? wouldn't all the glue between the wood take away sustain ect? and how big are these layers of each?

There is only a VERY thin laminate on both the VWH and VSBL which aids in helping the paint maintain a glossy, smooth look. The body is SOLID alder, with thin sheets of basswood on the top/back only.

Per the Spec sheet on Jemsite:

The JEM7VWH "has a super thin 0.5mm basswood veneer on the top and back. We do this with all alder woods because otherwise the finish would settle into the grain and have lines like a strat does in it after a few weeks. We do this with only alder wood that has a solid or metallic color on it. "

Be sure to check out the beautiful JS spec sheet while you're there as well!

I have a white Dimarzio strap-lock on my 7vsbl. The blue Dimarzio one just didn't look right on it being a different shade....
