What does SK stand for on the Pink Jems?

Ok, it seems like The 1st letter is the 1st word of the color and the 2nd letter is the second word of the color......and if there is 3 letters its the third letter of the color.

For Example:

DY = Desert Yellow
LNG = Lochness Green
FP = Floral Pattern
SBL = Sparkling Blue
RF = Road Flare
MC = Multi Color
GMC = Green Multi Color
PMC = Purple Multi Color
etc etc....

They all make sence except one.......SK for Shocking Pink

Now I know SK is shocking pink......but whats the K stand for? Is it just for the K in shocking?.....seems to me it should have been named......

JEM 777VSP for Vines Shocking Pink

So, does anyone know if the K stands for something else, or is is just stand for the K in shocking and they decided to leave the P for pink out?

Maybe its Strawberry Kiwi? Haha, that would make sence for SK.

Just a thought......

Also, anybody know how many JEM 777VSK's were made? I know they were only made one year, I wish I knew how many was produced, Mine says 8900555.....I wonder if it was the 555th SK made or the 555th Jem made in 89? Or even the 555th Ibanez electric guitar made that year?? Anybody know how they serial # them?

LMAO !

I'm realy laughing at that comment to the point where a tear is coming from my eye, ....but wait is it a tear of joyess laughter or is it a tear shed confirming the stark truth of the black and grey world that Ibanez is painting for us?

I'm hurt and confused now. Perhaps I will find the answer in the fridge ?

555th Jem made in '89.
Pre AANJ the Jem plates say Jem on them (as I'm sure you know) so the # system does not include any other guitars made by Ibanez.
After the AANJ was introduced jems serial # include all Japan made guitars for the specific year i.e. a 7VWH with F0224839 will indicate it was the 24839th guitar made in Japan in 2002.

Re: What does SK stand for on the Pink Jems?

I vote for the "K" in pink as well, or shocking I guess, just something that would stand out and make it obvious what color the name referred to, which SK seems to do, at least to me. Anyway, a possible reason I can think of for this could be potential confusion with another product at the time. Was there anything else referred to as an "SP" at or around that time?
