What polish do you guys use?

This might be a n00b question but I'll give it a try, Just wondering what you guys use to keep your finishes flawless of thoes greasy finger prints and thoes micro scratches.

Wanted to know so I dont use the wrong stuff and do more harm than good. Thanks!

I use guitar polish made by Martin and a string lube called Dr. Duck's Ax Wax & String Lube.

Clean cotton cloth and for the stubborn spots, a little spit ;-)

I've been using GHS Guitar Gloss for going on 10 years now...great stuff! Cleans metal parts too, and there's no residue.

Any pure automotive wax is just fine, you do not want one that has any polish in it. Polish is to, POLISH, which means you've already done something to it you need to polish. Wax will help prevent light scratching, but I do not use it, I would be percieved as trying to cover something up, which wax will also do. I use Eddies method, or he uses mine, one or the other

I think I learned it from you, Rich, years ago. Most "guitar polishes" always leave some kind of residue which then create more blemishes, such as fingerprints.

RICH!

Yea... Im gunna go find a nice lint free 100% cotton cloth today. Dont feel like using a polish, for some reason chemicals are a turn off for me to put on my guitar.

Also hey rich, When i got the guitar the strings and frets were really fast, i think its dried out now, what did you use to make it like that???

Maybe it's time to change strings I put nothing on the strings or frets, the boards are given a little bore oil because [especially JS's] have been sitting in a warehouse for years.
