What is sooo bad about the jem 555WH?????

I keep thinking about it and i don't understand, why does everyone always slag off the JEM 555WH. please tell me why you think it is so poor. tell me everything about its bad points.
i personally think it is at good price, it has a lot of similarities between the 7VWH and with a tremolo change it is basically the same (except wood and the inlays.
what is so bad about the 555??? help me! reply real soon

well, i have a JEM555, and its my main guitar now, especcially since I built in a lo pro edge tremolo. It plays great, and its a wonderful guitar. The only real differences with a JEM7v are the fancy neck inlay, the wood used for the body and the fretboard, and the finish and of course, the all evil Lo TRS2.If you swap that one, the biggest issue youll have is thewood. The JEM555 comes with the very light basswood, and because its so light, the sound it has is not too great with distortion. I found that a boss DS1 solves most of that, but still, it isnt as sweet sounding as a JEM7 body. I hope this answers some of your questions

You should do a search of the site for information containing "JEM555". You should get quite a bit of information. This question has been answered a few times.

what trem would it be best to replace the 555 one with then, if i was to buy one? And if i did, then would i have to re-rout the 555 or would the new trem just fit straight on? I almost posted this same topic and so am interested to hear what people have to say.

the Jemsite FAQ gives this response.

Q - I'm reading the site/forum and it's many criticisms of the JEM555. I never had a problem with mine and find this annoying. Why is there such an elitist attitude?

A - Personal preference. If you enjoy your guitar that is great. If you are reading the jemsite.com FAQ then something tells me you are a discriminating guitar player and will want something more than a 555 someday. The fatal flaws are widely believed to be the TRS tremolo and Korean construction of the 555. That and it sucks compared to a real 7 :-)

I dont know much but I don't think you can replace Lo-Pro Trem system directly into a body built for a Lo-TRS.... which also brings me to my recommendation Lo-Pro Edge.

I played a 555 once and it wasn't very nice, although it wasn't set up well. I guess if it feels nice to you then its great!

I doubt that the lo-pro would fit (although I've not tried it) they're diffent shapes and deapths. And I would have thought Ibanez wouldn't make it too easy just to drop another trem in.
It's similar is shpe to an origional Floyd - maybe that woud fit.

What pick-ups are in the 555??

Yeah, that's "Flo" I think, 555 neck on a VWH body, one of his back-ups...
