What would you do?

Okay, I can either buy a JEM 7V7 or I can buy a UV70P and...something else. Like a JS1200 or maybe a JEM 70 (Sea Foam Green)

I have a JEM 7V, JS2410, JS2400 and a JEM 77 FP2

So a JEM 7V7 would be an awesome guitar to go with my 7V but for the cost I could get the UV70P and still have enough left over for something else

lol

Also, it is kind of tough buying the 7V7 because it looks EXACTLY like my 7V so... would be nice if they offered it in a different color.

cheaper UV70P and a JS1200 or JEM 7V7?

hmmm...

just wondering your thoughts

Re: What would you do?

I have a 7V, my only Jem. I can see why your hesitant to have two guitars that look alike. The UV70P would be a nice contrast to your 7V. Just wondering if you really want the 7V7, then perhaps you can sell/trade your 7V for another 6 string Jem?

Thought you'd already made a call in the other thread? What went wrong?

I'll still eventually get the UV70P and the JEM 70V but that 7V7 next to my 7V is just too much for me to put off!

Re: What would you do?

My feeling is that the 7v7 will be worth its current 'new' asking price in a few years, like the VSBL that has risen a lot from its sub $1000 blow out prices. At their current price they likely wont sell too many, so it will be scarce, etc. So its a good guitar, and if you keep it 10 years it could be worth more than you paid for it, but who knows.

That said, you wouldn't have to look to hard to get another used (Japanese) Jem and a used UV777BK for less than the new price of a 7v7, but I would take the 7v7 over a Jem70/UV70 combo 100 times out of 100, no question. With all those bolt on trem guitars you already have, I would honestly look for an old ('78-'80) AR-300/2619 and a Lo-Pro UV777Bk before any of the other choices (and that would also likely leave hundreds in your wallet), just to round out the stable, but you are in a no lose situation here.

Good questions HAHA! I just keep second guessing myself.

Dang...

I just wish the 7V7 was black...or pink...something different.

lol

You could get a black UV777BK and a used Mark IV head for the price of a new 7v7...

Re: What would you do?

Well, I just bought the UV70P! And I am so excited because I am getting it delivered TOMORROW! They split the shipping cost so I went for it!

I figured that even though it isn't near as good as the 7V7 that its still a cool guitar and with the money I save i'll put that towards a new JEM or maybe that JS1200

: )

Re: What would you do?

Well, as I posted in its own thread, I canceled getting the UV70P because they really screwed up the order and this made me second guess my decision about getting this guitar over the much more expensive JEM 7V7.

So, I will wait and get that when I save up a little more cash.

I took the order mix up as a sign from the guitar Gods.

Re: What would you do?

There is a third option-
Get a custom Universe made in the color and configuration you want!

Does Ibanez do this, or would it have to be aftermarket?

A good sign it is. I got a UV70P last year and it was a complete piece of crap. So much so that my retailer had to send it back to the distributor who offered me a deep discount on a new Prestige. The neck was shifting on it and refused to be tightened down. I believe that it was one that slipped through the quality control.

Re: What would you do?

FYI there's a 7V7 for sale on Rigtalk for $2350.
