Where to buy Jem style necks

Where can you find a Jem style neck with the vine inlays? Once in a while, I see them for sale here, but for bigger money than I want to pay.

I'm going to build a custom guitar and really love the feel of my Jem neck, so thought I'd try to find one. I only found one company in the links at the top of this site - but he's in Australia and hasn't responded to my email.

Any other sources for Jem copy necks?

Good luck. I've e-mailed 5 luthiers about custom necks a week ago and no one has gotten back to me. Guess nobody wants to work. That or they're all behind on orders.

I've wondered this one myself. There are lot's of guys selling bodies, but very few selling necks. It almost makes me want to start buying tools and jigs to do it myself.

I got one done by Chris Woods, and another by Monster Guitar Shop. The Chris Woods neck turned out fantastic, but I had to wait forever for it. The monster guitar neck came in much faster, but is way lower quality.

Necks are not allowed on ****, technically they're not even allowed to be built but they're not going after the sources, yet. When they tell me to, all bodies will be killed also.

Company man!

Why not just sell the bodies now? I would never destroy them, just tell them that you did, lol.

Re: Where to buy Jem style necks

I really wish the people who advertise on this site would return emails as well! I have emailed 2 and not heard back either. In this day in age of smart phones, email accesability, there is no excuse to not get back with someone within 24 hours. No excuse. It's poor business. And those sites up in the banner should be tested on this, and reuired to adhere to a policy of it. It is an advertisement for an un-reliable company.

And if the company is backed up, out of town, etc. There is such a thing as an "auto-response" for their email. It makes me question if I would even want to give them my money now if they did contact me!

I am in search for the same thing. I am up in the air, do I buy a Jem, or make my own??? If i had the tools, patience, and skills, I would make my own neck. I just know I would rush it, and mess it up. And knowing me, I would buy a bunch of tools I didn't really need to do it.

Re: Where to buy Jem style necks

So, finding one is hard.

let's say I just wanted to get a Warmoth neck with specs that are close to the Jem (in terms of width, profile, fret size etc).

Where do you find the detailed specs on the Jem7v neck to use as a guide?

It would be cool to have the fancy vine...but not really necessary for the project I want to start.

Cool Re: Where to buy Jem style necks

I can't get some Ibanez jem necks... They are not real ibanez, but they get the job done.

Here's some pics...

You can probably look on Ibanez's website. It looks like they have detailed specs on all of thier guitars...
