Whhoo, got my 90HAM.

And boy are my high expectations excceded (And those where high ones). I have played jems at the local guitar store, but this one is infinitely easier to play. The action is super-low, and with the light strings even I can do decent sounding runs and sweeps . The neck seems very thin and as if there is no clear coat on the back, so the thumb slides without any jerking.

I have borrowed a RG570 from a friend for a while, and after getting the 90, I have come to the conclution that his RG must be one of the poorest setup guitars know to man with about 1 cm action at 12th and the tremolo locked pointing downwards to the neck and wound G string(And he has even used it on two record recordings).

Finally the V-amp2 arrived today, so now there is no more desecrating the 90 using a Peavy Rage amp.(I know, the v-amp is kind of "newbie" but I cant afford a Soldano yet)

I bought it from the other side of the world, from Andrew at IbanezCentre in australia (I live in Norway). They are highly recommendable, beeing friendly, easy to get hold of, honest and great luthiers.

Congrats on the Jem, dude.
I see hours of playing coming your way.

About the RG...................wound G string????
That's probably acoustic set of strings.
Get Earny Ball Super Slinky (pink wraper) and change them ASAP.

Your friend needs a setup............. Badly.................. Soon............

Congrats!!

I know what you mean in the vast differences... I have an RG 320 <blech> and just for sh*ts and giggles after playing my 7VWH for a little bit I went back to the RG just see how it felt in comparison and I could not believe it.

You're a lucky man

He plays norse death metal with everyting detuned god knows how much. He told me that unwound G strings baffeld in the wind with his tuning.

Congrats on the 90th!!! It is truly a great guitar. The ease of playability is remarkable. I have four Jems and the only one that outplays it is my DNA. Of course the DNA cost twice as much and is never really played. The 90th is a smoking axe indeed....Enjoy!

Congrats, man!

To me, the Jem 90 is one of the most desirable and beautiful Jem's. I just love them and i would kill to have one.

Play it to death!

Congratulations on the 90th! A truly excellent guitar. Have had mine for a couple of years now, and is still my #1.
