Will a Tremol-no make string changing easier?

I haven't had the pleasure yet of trying to change strings on my new floating bridge JS1200. I've read a bunch of instructions and watched video's on YouTube. Some people do 1 string at a time while others block the trem and do multiple strings.

If you had a device like the Tremol-no installed, could you lock out the trem and change strings similar to a fixed bridge guitar without the multiple adjust/re-adjust steps?

Locking a Tremol-no does makes changing strings easier but you cannot take off all the strings at once. It's not meant to handle that kind of tension. But for changing strings one at a time, it rocks.

you can, but make sure that you have the set screws installed instead of the thumb screws.

You can change the whole thing, n use it like a hardtail!

I don't know about the set screw installation, but I'm with toneboy. It won't handle the tension from 3 springs. It's easier for replacing the strings one by one. But, it must be set up perfectly in flow mode, so that when you unlock, it won't make it a pain in the @$$ to tune your guitar.
If you set it up right, it works great in every mode!

I have (3) springs in one my Tremol-no equipped guitars and (4) in the other. I recall reading somewhere that it was not advisable to take all the string tension off the trem (equipped with a Tremol-no) with springs installed.

I'd advise posting this question on the official Tremol-no forums for the final word.

Why try to reinvent the wheel? Learn how to change the strings and don't rely on a tremol-no to help you.

Just make a perfect size block from a piece of wood and it's easy. You want something that will hold the trem firmly exactly where it is. Whip all the old strings off, which gives you a chance to clean up the fretboard, apply some lemon oil, polish up the frets etc. Then put the new strings on and get them all up to tension before removing the block again. Couldn't be easier.
